Santa Fe Silverworks is a collection of beautiful, unique and exquisitely handcrafted Southwestern sterling
silver jewelry pieces created by Santa Fe, New Mexico Native and Award Winning Silversmith Gregory Segura. Being mostly self
taught, Gregory began designing jewelry in silver over 20 years ago in 1989, although he did make is first piece for his mother,
Elvira, in a 1980 high school silversmith class. He has continued to perfect his skills over the years. In 2010, at Gregory's
first year in the world renowned Santa Fe Traditional Spanish Market, he was awarded twice for his "Corazon de Santa
Fe" , Second Place in Precious Metals, and the E. Boyd Memorial Award for Originality and Expressive Design. Inspired
by all the beauty that the Southwest has to offer, and a great admirer of master silversmiths from New Mexico's past, Gregory's
work reflects his Spanish and Native American heritage. A bit of a restless soul, Gregory's jewelry offers a wide range
of diverse designs from traditional to contemporary. His Sacred Hearts and Crosses have become sought after by collectors
worldwide. Gregory is also the originator of the ©™Survivor's Cross, dedicated to all those affected by cancer
and other debilitating diseases, not just those that beat their disease or those battling their disease but those providing
care and support as well as those Survivors left behind to remember their loved ones. All of Gregory's Southwestern jewelry designs are original handmade sterling silver rings, earrings, bracelets,
necklaces, pendants, belts, buckles, crosses, and cigar cases and the with bolo ties, pendants, cuff links and lapel pins. Many are one-of-a-kind works of art and most of his intricately
stamped designs are truly unique, with no two identical. He uses the heaviest gauge of silver possible to craft his pieces
giving them a substantial feel and the assurance of the highest quality available. Many designs incorporate Southwestern elements
like turquoise, garnet, lapis-lazuli and coral as well as other semi-precious stones. "From the first time I started working with silver it just came natural to me. I guess you could say
I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, that I made. Jewelry designs are constantly going on in my head and manipulating
the silver to execute my ideas just made sense. Turquoise has always been my favorite stone to use because of the varied hues
of blue to green, often with unique matrix lines. Combine that with silver and beautiful jewelry is the result and reward." Gregory lives and creates his jewelry works of art in his hometown of Santa Fe with his beautiful
wife Debra and their four rescue animals. Three of them are cats, Penelope, Benicio del Gato and Wally and one cat herding
Border Collie, Isobel. Please enjoy browsing Santa Fe Silverworks.com
and know that the piece of jewelry you choose was created from the heart and soul of Santa Fe.
